If you’ve ever wanted to know the absolute must haves everyone should be crying in their everyday bag, you’ve hit the jackpot! Here’s a list of my on the go must haves that I carry in my bag daily.
Hand Cream
A good hand cream is a must have to keep in your bag. You’re likely using and washing your hands often during the day. So having a nice hand cream or lotion available at all times is a life -saver.
Favorites below:
Hand Sanitizer
Having a sanitizer in your bag is helpful when it’s time to clean your hands and there’s no soap or sink nearby.
Wet wipes
Whenever you need to clean yourself up, these are very handy to have!
Feminine wipes
As a woman, it should be imperative to have some wipes on hand for whenever you’re using the bathroom. Plain bath tissue can’t possibly clean off the leftover bacteria and odor from your waste. It also tends to leave behind little pieces that can cling to your skin and hair if you’re unshaven. A wipe is so necessary to keep down there fresh and clean at all times!
Sunscreen
There aren’t too many people that touch on how important it is to use sunscreen on a regular basis. If you’re going to be outside at any time, even if you’re just going to be in the car, you still should protect your skin from the sun. You protect your skin from sunburn and sun damage. Yes, your skin can still burn, even if you don’t see or feel pain or rashes right away.
Since I use topical acne medication, my skin is ultra-sensitive and must be protected from the sun and heat. Ever since I began applying sunscreen just about every time I walk out the door, I’ve noticed significant improvement in my acne scarring and uneven skin tone. It’s not perfect by any means, but the marks on my face are much more faded than they used to be. There was a time where it seemed like my scars were never going away, even multiplying!
I don’t use any lightening serums or face creams on a consistent basis, so I honestly believe adding the sunscreen has played a part in my skin’s improvement.
With all of that said, you’d be surprised just how much of an improvement applying sunscreen to your face every time you leave the house! So I highly suggest adding it into your everyday bag. The ones I’ve included are absolutely wonderful; no harsh spf scent, no white cast, no overly-greasy leftover film, and the texture is like a light facial moisturizer!
Lip balm
I keep plenty of lip balms on deck because I used to have chronic dry lips. Now its’s just become a habit for me to swipe on some lip balm or gloss often. Having a few good lip balms handy in your bag is so important if you value having soft, supple and healthy looking lips at all times. Listed below include the Rosebud Salve (and salve in a tube), Jack Black Intensive Therapy lip balm, Mario Badescu rose lip balm (notice a pattern here? Teehee!) and the Kopari lip balms. They all work amazing!
Facial Mist
We need a good refresher/pick me up sometimes, especially in hot or dry weather. I love to carry around a travel size facial spray in my purse so I can give my skin some refreshing. It really comes in handy whenever I’m wearing makeup. If your hair tends to be on the dry side, a facial mist will be helpful for that too!
Makeup/Toiletry bag
Come on now, of course this one would be on the list of must haves. I keep a small bag of little toiletries makeup materials for touch ups. I personally will keep a few lip products like a clear or nude gloss, a lipstick, a small compact powder for touch-ups, a travel sized facial mist, and a few individually wrapped wipes for refreshing when needed. You should definitely carry a few of your “feminine” products such as pads and tampons with you as well.
Stain remover pen
Accidents happen, but that doesn’t mean that you have to wear them. Having some kind of stain removal pen in your bag will be a savior for times. Honorable mentions I can include under this category is needle an thread, tiny scissors, extra buttons and safety pins in case of any wardrobe malfunctions.
Gum/Mints
I mean this pretty much goes without saying. Fresh breath is extremely important. You don’t want your breath to smell like the meal you just ate, especially if that meal consisted of things like onions or garlic…
Portable charger
Keep a charger on hand so you’l never have to worry about a dead phone! I make sure I don’t leave the house without mine because my iPhone battery can drain pretty quickly if I’m out for hours.
…and the wall plug
You know, just in case you’ll need it!
Tooth picks
Having a meal while you’re out? Maybe after a lunch or dinner you’ve got some food stuck in your teeth. Of course you can’t just leave it there, and rinsing with a splash of water may not always cut it. So keeping some toothpicks in your bag is always smart.
Eyeglass cleaning cloth
If you wear any kind of glasses, keeping a cloth for cleaning them periodically is super helpful. Who wants to see out of lens coated in dust or other debris? Not me!
First aid
This is another one that goes without saying. The essential first aid items to keep in your bag should include some band-aids, alcohol wipes, painkillers, mini gauze, tweezers, healing ointment, and in extreme cases, 911 on speed dial!
Can you think of any more purse essentials every woman should keep in her bag? Let me know in the comments, and I might add them to the list!

I’m just about to clear out my on-the-go handbag, I really need to add some of your suggestions! The stain remover pen and the hand cream suggestions are great. The wall plug could be heavy but I can definitely see how it could come in handy! 🙂
