I’ve already made a post about 6 ways you can save on your shopping trips, but now I’m here to offer even more tips now that the holidays are literally right around the corner!

During this very busy season, sales are already booming and items are flying off the shelves. So, I’m sure you’d like to get in on the action without sacrificing your entire paycheck, or risking your life for a TV set on Black Friday.

Here are some of my best tips for helping you save money and time on your holiday shopping, all in the comfort of your own home!

Cashback Reward Sites

My absolute favorite sites to help me get cash back on my online purchases are Ebates, Swagbucks, and ShopAtHome.

I’ve shared a post before all about how much I LOVE Ebates and How I use it to my best advantage. I also outlined in this post exactly how I earned $40+ in just a few minutes using both Ebates and Swagbucks to grab deals and cashback on my online purchases.

I’d joined another cashback site called “ShopAtHome” and earned a $5 bonus on my first purchase. I love that they offer rewards in either a check, paypal, or amazon gift cards. When I do my shopping on Amazon specifically, and surely I do A LOT of Amazon shopping, I earn cashback rewards! You can earn a $10 bonus when you sign up here!

Now imagine this: if you can incorporate these in your regular lifestyle and earn some pretty good change for doing next to nothing, imagine how much money you can earn back from all the holiday shopping you’ll be doing this year! These nice bonuses will automatically put you ahead of the game:

Ebates is kind enough to offer a cash incentive of $10 for your first $25 purchase through their links! During these holiday sales, it won’t take you long to make your first bonus!

ShopAtHome offers $10 for your first purchase of $10 or more through one of their retailers, and you can cash out after your earnings has reach $20 or more.

Swagbucks will grant you a 300 SB bonus (equivalent to $3) on top of the first 300 SB you earn after signing up. Complete one of their offers, a few surveys, or shop through one of their partnered retailers and pocket an extra $6!

BONUS TIP : When you sign up with a cashback site, download their browser extension to maximize your savings and rewards. Banner alerts will appear every time you visit a site they’re partnered with, offering a cashback percentage or a discount you may not had found elsewhere.

RetailMeNot

I’ve been subscribed with RetailMeNot’s email newsletter for almost 3 years now and I love them. My mom loves to check out their sales and deals too. When you sign up for their email newsletter, they’ll send you deals, coupons, and freebies from all kinds of retailers and restaurants. I also have the RetailMeNot app on my iPhone. I love to check on it periodically throughout the week to see any other deals I can score.

RetailMeNot now offers cashback rewards! When you click on one of their offers, you’ll receive a certain amount in cashback after spending the minimum requirement at the retailer of your choice.

BONUS TIP: combine cashback rewards by visiting the retailer of your choice on desktop or laptop and activating ALL of the cashback rewards browser extensions. I do this all of the time and earn way more than if I just went shopping through mobile. If you use your mobile phone, you’ll only be able to go through one cashback or rewards site individually, whereas the browser extensions on desktop or laptop enable you to score a bunch of rewards all at the same time!

Discounted Gift Cards

This one is a pretty big way to save a little money that I think lots of people don’t think about. When I first heard of this shopping hack, I thought it was ingenious! I had one of those “Why didn’t I ever think of that?!?” moments!

You can flip this opportunity in a few ways: you can

  • gift someone a gift card for a little less than you’d normally pay full price
  • purchase a gift card at a certain amount to retailers you know you’ll be shopping at frequently so the gift card amount will also help you stay on budget
  • purchase a discounted gift card to spend solely on yourself!

Ebates counts their cashback rewards towards gift card purchases from some of their retail partners. For example, if you’d like to purchase a Nike gift card, and they’re offering 10% cashback, then you end up saving 10% on that gift card purchase from the cashback reward they grant you.

Personally, I love to check out sites like CardCash (my favorite!) and Gift Card Granny for the best deals on discounted gift cards. I hardly ever expect anything crazy like 75% off a full priced gift card, but the little bit you save can add up quickly. Plus, when you combine your new gift card with any holiday shopping deals or coupons that will already grant you the good stuff for the low low, you’ll be mind blown at the amount of money you shave off the original full price.

BONUS TIP: Buy discounted gift cards at the stores that you plan to shop for your holiday shopping, and use them in conjunction with the cashback and rebate deals you get!

Those are my best tips for how to save the most money during your holiday shopping sprees!

How will you be saving the most money on your holiday shopping this year? I’d love to read some of your personal favorite tips in the comments!
